January 30th

I am grateful for feeling like the IT girl!

I went to a Landmark Introduction Leaders Introduction. A few different times I got tag teamed by a group of great people who were trying to (in landmark speak) 'enroll' me into the program.

Felt the LOVE for sure especially from JMoore, my girls Carol and Mary, Idira, Ms. Nessa who walked across the room to tell me how great I was during my share and how beautiful I am. I LOVE her!

Couldn't have felt more loved and believed in! I'm in!

My new friend C. called me tonight and we talked for almost two hours! He promised to call again and come to visit soon! Fun!

My friend B. called and I also called S. back from yesterday. Definitely feeling like God is pouring on the encouragement in from the 'Men of God' in my life.

Grateful for J, C, S & B today.

ps: Just got called in to work tomorrow! Feeling wanted in one more area! Yay!

January 29

• I'm grateful for my friend Tricia's event today! Grateful folks at Ade's job were able to contribute to it as well. Left with a few new friends and so much gratitude that I'm not homeless! SO many of the people out there are smart, bright, articulate, amazing people who fell on hard times. That could very easily be any one of us...


• I'm SUPER grateful for a catch up lunch in New Brunswick with Kudzai!


• I'm grateful for BFFs with whom I can pick up where I left off.


• I'm grateful for people who love me and know me well enough to know which questions to ask and to REALLY wait for the answers.


• I'm grateful for the freedom to be able to wake up and decide to drive an hour and a half to meet my friend for brunch without having to check in with anyone else! These days will not last for ever, yes I'm enjoying them now!


• I'm grateful for Shannon's bday dessert night (even though I'm not eating dessert right now)


• I'm grateful that I got to spend time with Marisol and Tomas - who knew we were age mates?!

I'm grateful for an extra day of work! Thank you whoever called out! Check out our new logo vs. the old one. Um, I prefer the better one.

I'm grateful for being snowed in with the sibs!

Today was the first day my sisters and I were home together ALL day! This never happens even on Saturdays! It was a delightful slow day of sleeping in, a great quiet time and random talk and TV time with some of my favorite peeps.

I am grateful for my IKEA morning of breakfast and decorating fun with Ifeoluwa! LOVING the pillows I got! Organized room here I come!

• I'm grateful for the discovery that a guy I'm interested in called me this weekend! Glad he's not allergic to leaving voicemails
• I'm grateful for the bonding time I had with little sis in Ikea and for the cute pillows we purchased!
• Also grateful to be treated to an impromtu happy hour with 3 friends! Lychee martini and vino - yay!
• SUPER grateful to discover another video by the Narvaez duo. Hilarious!

• I'm grateful that I discovered this this father-daughter duo - Jorge and Alexa Narvaez. Enjoy!
• I'm grateful for work (who am I turning into? Right, a freelancer!) and a workday that went pretty well. Had a talk with my boss about better news judgement on one of my hard news stories today. Not fun, but helpful.
• I'm grateful for a yummy overdue dinner -skipped lunch during my 9.5 hour workday!

I'm grateful that tickets became available to my sister's sold-out performance of 'Hair Spray' at the last minute and that the 3 L's (my sisters and I) in attendance all got to sit together! Also glad another group of about 10 friends came to support her!

I'm grateful for a free veggie hoagie that served as lunch and dinner today! One of our reporters went to do a story at a restaurant and game back with more food than we could eat! Yay for staying on budget!

• I'm grateful that I went the church's leadership workshop today from 10 - 3. I heard about it last night a few minutes to midnight. With my 2am bedtime I wasn't sure I was going to make it. SO glad I did!).


• I got to talk to Jennifer Lambert the female speaker at the conference and she recommended this book. Looking forward to working through it (and kind of scared of what it will drag up too).


• I'm grateful for the bonding shopping time my sister Amanda and I had at KOHL's and the deals we got.).


• I'm grateful for my conversation on marriage with Millicent and how it helped me calm some of my fears about marriage. For e.g. How do you deal with the things you have to give up by getting married? I LOVE to dance. What if I end up with a man who doesn't like to dance? So I have to give that up for life? How do you deal with that? It was a good helpful convo. Maybe I will get married after all :)).



• Also really grateful that I just saw an E! Biography on Katy Perry's career. Encouragement I needed to keep going with mine! If someone as talented as she is had to do so much to get her career off the ground... Just sayin'!

I am grateful for an incredible singles' ministry! We had singles devo today! Had no clue but that and the group hangout afterwards were JUST what I needed!

Being liked and "pursued" gets an honorable mention today. (Pursued is in quotes cause I felt like the guy in question was more interested in figuring out if I was what he was looking for than in being genuinely interested in who I am, and what type of person/relationship I'm looking for. I guess he figures that's my problem! ha ha!

I'm grateful for leftovers! In particular my yummy baked oatmeal! I'm grateful that I worked a 9.5 hour day and didn't buy lunch and was full and well fed!

I am grateful for my impromptu girl's day in Annapolis with Katie, Leslie and Rebecca! We did some whirlwind boot shopping then had the perfect tea time together! Great times! LOVED their big sister perspective on God, life and love. Grateful that I am single and a freelancer on days like these! I woke up, got up and went without having to coordinate with anyone! I'm also grateful for being a girl today. A nice man dug my car out of the snow for me! (This is how I've lived in Philadelphia for almost 18 years without ever owning a shovel.) What can I say, I enjoy being a girl!

I'm grateful for the falling snow that's white-washing my darling Filthadelphia and making it look pure and clean! If only for a little while...

Who says I have to stop at one thing?

• I'm grateful Eureka was born 33 years ago!


• I'm grateful the boys remain in good spirits after having lost ALL their earthly belongings.
  
• I'm grateful that Greg in the middle of his loss is helping NBC get inside information about the shady waivers his landlord is trying to get them all to sign in order for them to get their security deposit back.


• I'm grateful for being able to get my hair done well at a great price - yay for former roomies who own their own salons! :)

January 10 - Part II - my gratitude cup runneth over!

I am SO grateful that this apartment inferno did not claim the lives of any of my friends who lived in this building. Unfortunately they lost all their earthly belongings - including documentary footage that my very good friend Greg had worked on for years. Ugh! Stuff can always be replaced though.



Trust Greg to be a rockstar even at a time like this. I connected him with my assignment editor and we featured him in all the coverage we did on NBC. Greggers turned out to the interview to get even in the middle of tragedy and loss. The Philadelphia Inquirer (probably after I connected him to Claudia) snagged him and also wrote their story around him.



His roomies Ross and John were at work when it all happened... Love all of them!

I am SO grateful for Reagan Oluwaseun who was born 6 years ago today. She is fun, smarter than her years, flawed, awesome, beautiful, my sister's look-alike and my very first neice! Love her much! Oh yeah, she's also reading everything in sight and currently convinced everything is made in China...

I am grateful for all the Mr-Wrong-for-mes that God in His infinite wisdom has spared me from dating and/or marrying. You know who you are! LOL!

I'm also grateful in advance for Mr. Right!

I'm grateful that I have the cutest, funniest and smartest nieces and nephew in the world! No, I'm not biased at all!

I'm grateful that 4 of the 5 L. sisters were together at the opening of thespian Ade's Hairspray show and we all got to sit together at the last minute! *The 4th L. chickster didn't want to be included in the pic and is playing photog :)

The show is amazing & Ade is amazing in it! Go and see it.

I'm grateful for a fun and breezy MRI instead of the claustrophobic anxiety-ridden one I feared! Life lesson alert: SO many things in my life turn out this way. Loads of anxiety in advance and it ends up being a cake walk. Lesson learned the millionth time! :)

I'm grateful for silly warm, humble, dynamic preacher who asked for our input on his message and took my input delivering an inspiring, hilarious message! (Yes, he's the one making a silly face walking his sister down the aisle at his nephew's wedding) He also asked me how it went after his message. He SO didn't need to do that, but it was still SO encouraging! So grateful for the entire Singles' service in Boston! It was incredible! Great way to begin the New Year!

365 Days of Gratitude

So one of my oldest best friends Bolaji began a '365 Days of Gratitude' Photo Album on Facebook and I decided to join him. His wife decided to join us in our endeavor but she's making hers into a blog! That made me remember you my darling blog and made me think that in addition to my FB list, I'll make a blog to go along with my gratitude list! This way I can go into more detail about why I'm grateful for these particular things...
